Thanks for this. I have all the old Xplane 8 Global scenary files on 7 dvds, does anyone know if they will work with Xplane 9?

A little remark though: You told 3261dan that v8-scenery do not work in XP9, but it does. Running v9 with US and Europe v8-scenery at the moment (until dl v9 is done).

Ooh, forgot to ask:
Does anybody know if the v9-sceneries stretch above +60 degrees latitude (and below -54)??
The v8 did not, leaving 3/4 of my country uncovered :(
I had to use v7 for these areas :(
I am not done with dl of Europe or Canada so I cant check it my self.
If it does, is the quality the same as the rest of the world (SRTM) or is it just reused v7-scenery ??

The new Version-9 scenery goes up to 74 degrees North Latitude for more Alaska and North-European flying!

As said earlier, its so much fun to see so many interested in x-plane! Now if I'd had my word, I'd really ask you guys if there is somebody that has some nice payware airplanes for x-plane? Its really a shame there is SO much extra for flightsim x on the net, but NONE at all for x-plane. So if you have some airplanes that you'd like to share, please do so! And don't forget to write the word "x-plane" or x plane" or "laminar" so that the rest of us can find it easier here on TPB.

The sim is only 1.3Gb but the add-on are Huge by comparison. Oh well, best buy a new HHD eh.

I have a problem: I just downloaded x-plane europe, and the folder contains 2 files: XPLANE9_Europe.mdf and XPLANE9_Europe.mds.
What do I have to do to to install them/ add them to x-Plane? When I double click them, nothing hapens. I have Mac OSX.

my problem was solved by itself!!!
If you are a Mac user, it's pretty easy to install:
1. download
2. go to "Information" at the .mdf- file and COMPLETELY ERASE THE NAME!!!
3. Give it a new name such as "xplane" without the .iso ending or any ending- just a new name!
4. close the information window, click on your "xplane" file to rename it and now add .iso to the file name. You'll be asked whether you really want to add this new ending. Confirm this.
5. Now double-click on the .iso file and launch the installer.
I did it like this and it worked without any problems!

i got installed the demo and i cracked it with nodvd image.how can i intall this scenery because i can only fly without scenery and all i see is sea :P
I cannot install scenery to this location! I tried diferent location and nothing, even with location with files of this game. it says: pisck your xplane destination folder and nstall there. Where? what to do. I mounted it and what next?
FInally, i've figured it out. Why someone hasn't said this before? I've spent the best part of 2 days trying to install it!
Right, for a MAC:
1) install the web demo from x plane.
2) Download the map dvd of your choice. e.g. europe from soft4all
2)Once complete open and you should have 2 files, a .mdf and a .mds. Rename the .mdf to .iso
3) Mount that by double clicking on it. (you should see a CD drive icon called xplane9 on your desktop.
4) (and this is where the problem is) the map download is a beta from years ago, and you are getting the latest release from xplane so the installer doesn't work. So go to:

..to get the latest installer.
5) once downlaoded, open that installer and the rest should be easy (the installer will detect which dvd you have mounted in a drive and ask you how much of it you want to install)

Thanks so much for this upload, but can I please request that those who are kind enough to seed please seed at more than 0.5kb/s as it is going to take everyone forever to download it at these speeds. Currently there are three guys who are seeding at above 2.0kb/s out of the 7 seeds the rest are at lets than 0.5kb/s. I am seeding this as I download and uploading at much higher speeds than this! Anyway thanks for everyone's efforts hopefully I will get it sometime. BTW I downloaded the standard version 9 demo and use X-Plane_9-ISO-NoCD-.rar which is only 571kb and mount it using Deamon and it runs as sweet as a nut!
